We have recently discovered an internet scam that involves the fraudulent use of our company name.

If you receive a suspicious email and have any questions, please contact us immediately.

Below is an example. 

“I will like the Order to be picked up from you and shipped to my client in Phillipines .I want to proceed with the order as well as the shipping. Regarding the shipping,I want you to get in contact with a shipping company and get me the shipping charges so we can proceed  from there,They will come to your location and make the Pick up. Below   you will find the delivery address and also the shipping companies  contact details:

Internnational longshoreman's association ILA Local Authorizes Strike – After negotiations for new contract terms broke off last week, the International Longshoremen’s Association’s (ILA) Local 1804-1 in North Bergen, New Jersey held a meeting. The Local unanimously voted for and approved the authorization for a strike, if a new contract is not in place in October. The ILA also recently joined the International Dockworkers Council and has gained the support of Portuguese dockworkers who are ready to strike along with the ILA.

Hurricane Isaac Damage Assessment – The Port of New Orleans officials are working with the U.S. Coast Guard to assess the damage caused by Hurricane Isaac and to determine whether the Mississippi River may be re-opened. After the assessment, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will determine whether navigation will be hindered. Port officials hope to resume operations by this weekend.

Trucker Strike at Port Nehru Called Off – The trailer operators at Port of Jawaharlal Nehru in India have called off their planned strike against a hike in hauling rates and deteriorating infrastructure at the port. The Nhava Sheva Container Trailer Operators’ Association has agreed to address the truckers concerns.

Trade Talks Progress for South Korea and China – The third round of negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between South Korea and China have taken place and more progress has been made. The two countries drew up guidelines for negotiations in the fields of goods, services, origin, customs clearance and trade facilitation. Both countries will be able to benefit from a bilateral FTA.

Cargo Pilot Fatigue Rule Reconsidered – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is reconsidering expanding fatigue rules for air cargo pilots, not just passenger plane pilots. A bipartisan House bill was introduced last month that would require cargo pilots to take eight hours of rest between shifts when the overall FAA rules take effect January 14, 2012.

TSA to Implement 100 Percent Global Cargo Screening – The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin 100% screening on all cargo arriving from international passenger flights on December 3rd. The TSA is working to synchronize international security requirements with other nations’ through a series of mutual recognition agreements and is working closely with Customs and Border Protection to adopt risk-based screening techniques for domestic air cargo.

trucking freight drayageNew Rules for Truckers – The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) issued new rules regulating the amount of hours truckers can work.  These restrictions will go into effect in 2013 and aim to reduce driver-fatigue related accidents. The new rules will decrease a trucker’s maximum work week from 82 to 70 hours. Though safety advocates have been unsuccessful in their push to reduce the daily limit from 11 hours to 10, the trucking industry and manufacturers remain concerned about the impact of new weekly limits on productivity and costs.

U.S. Stops Short of Calling China a Currency Manipulator – Some in the domestic manufacturing industry were disappointed when the U.S. failed to label China a “currency manipulator” in a recent report. These critics accuse China of artificially lowering its currency value to drive support for its exports. The report, however, did cite that the renminbi (RMB) is “substantially undervalued” and that the U.S. government will continue to pressure Beijing on its exchange rate. Despite its critics, the renminbi has appreciated 12% against the dollar over the past year and a half.

U.S. Container Traffic Grew Nearly 4% in 2011 – Annual U.S. container trade grew approximately 3.7% over 2010.  Exports grew almost 6% while imports registered just over a 2% increase.  The overall growth was only about half of last year’s increase; however, that data represented a rebound from sharp declines in 2009.
